Gladwell calls Nomfundo and tells her he’s booked a live studio band to finish recording her demo and she is excited. Lerato becomes frustrated with Gladwell and she calls Mo and asks if she can come over to see him. Gladwell invites Nomfundo for drinks after she completes her demo at the sound studio but she refuses and tells him she doesn’t love him. Lerato has sex with Mo at his home.

Gladwell decides to sell his car to have enough money to support Zama and to get out of debt. He bumps into Nomfundo, whose song is now a big hit. She tells him she is HIV negative. Gladwell discloses his status to the congregation at church. He discusses his feelings about the decisions he’s made and how he is coping with his status. He offers support to anyone who needs it and urges others not to make the same mistakes he has. Bra Thaps is still upset but comes round and supports Gladwell, teaching him about the necessity to be adherent.

In this episode Nomfundo is drinking heavily. She is scared to go and test after Gladwell’s disclosure; even though they did not have unprotected sex. Lerato discloses that she is HIV positive to Mo, but is sure he is OK because they used a condom. Mo starts a fight with Gladwell and Lerato goes to take care of Gladwell. She tells him about Mo, and he is shocked. He learns that she has sexual and emotional needs that he was not meeting. Lerato and Gladwell decide to initiate treatment and support each other with adherence. Lerato still has not decided if she will stay with him or not.

Gladwell and Nomfundo meet up and he has some good news for her. He has organised a professional recording session for her. Bra Thaps notices that Gladwell has been tired all the time recently and suggests he see a doctor, but Gladwell says he’s fine. We are introduced to the Zulu family; Mam’ Zulu who is struggling to find job and her daughter Zama. Nomfundo tells Gladwell that they can have a mutually beneficial relationship.
