Bheki Mazibuko

 

Bheki Mazibuko was known for his love of choral music during his teen years in his kasi of Soshanguve, Pretoria. Not only did he love choral music, he was a choir conductor at the age of 14.
While his love of music remains one of his interests, many people today know him as a man who has dedicated his life to fight HIV, especially among men.
This is because Mazibuko has been living with HIV for the past 21 years and he has made it his mission to reach every person in his kasi. To date, he has counselled many people who either are living with HIV or felt that they had been exposed to the virus but were scared to test.
This 41-year old activist often gives talks to government departments and local NGos about how he has been able to live a productive life since his diagnosis in 1996.
